The US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality reported that low health literacy is associated with worse health care and poorer health outcomes. This is especially prevalent in communities of color. This panel will discuss how low literacy becomes a barrier to accessing health information, proper medication use, and utilization of preventive services.
